แต่นั่นแหละครับที่ผ่านมาในเร็วๆนี้ นักวิทยาศาสตร์ได้ค้นพบเหตุผลที่ดีมากในการอนุรักษ์แพนด้า เพราะว่าพบสารในเลือดของพวกมันซึ่งมีผลสามารถต่อสู้เชื้อโรคได้ (germ) ซึ่งทำให้ฆ่าแบคทีเรียและราได้ดี สารในเลือดเหล่านี้สามารถนำมาพัฒนาต่อยอดเป็นยาปฏิชีวนะได้ซึ่งนำมาต่อสู้กับเชื้อขั้นสูงที่ดื้อต่อยาปฏิชีวนะในปัจจุบันรวมถึงเชื้อไวรัสได้ด้วย บางทีการค้นพบนี้จะทำให้เกิดการเปลียนใจในวิกฤตการณ์สูญพันธ์แพนด้านี้ก็ได้
Great Level of Worth
I don't think there is anyone that doesn't like pandas? However, since there are only about 1,600 pandas worldwide, they are definitely very precious animals. Even though an astronomical amount is spent on artificially propagating them, it is still very hard to effectively increase their number. There have been a lot of voices stating that the huge amount of money being spent on pandas, would be better spent on other natural conservation projects. Yet, recently scientists have discovered that there is a good reason for saving pandas. It is because there is a substance in their blood that can fight germs, leading to the deaths of bacteria and fungi. This substance in their blood can be used to develop new kinds of antibiotics, which can be used to treat superbugs that are resistant to the existing antibiotics and other viruses. Now that a discovery with such great value has been made, perhaps this can change the minds of those critics.
